You never know your plane could not be started properly, in that case your battery is not on and you cant talk to - or hear - atc, of course.  ::)

??? ??? ???excuse me, but are we talking about the same thing ?, I meant when I fly in fs 2004, and I fx. ask for landing instructions, it is a good thing to could read what the atc say to me, I am total lost because I can either read or hear what the tower tells me to do.
I hope that this explain my problem a little bit more clear. hope for a helping advise.

Yes, but 9/10 if you have traffic on you will have to do a go around, because the ATC in FS blows.  As far as your problem, no I do not have an answer all I was saying is the ATC doesn't do much.  Did you reinstall FS?, if not try that

Check the '..../Flight Simulator 9/Sound/' folder for the file 'USEnglishBig.gvp'. This is the file that contains the sounds (and text I believe) that are used to generate ATC voice traffic.

If it is missing, or corrupted, (should be 199,829KB, dated 5/23/2003 8:43PM) you can recover it from CD#2/MSGAME5.cab

This info is for the US English version. If you use a different language version of FS9, the file name may differ.

If this isnt the cause, maybe remove the FSUIPC.dll file from the /Modules/ folder and see if that cures it.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
