Reeeeeley BIG problem

Postby captjim » Thu May 05, 2005 6:13 am

???captjim here.

I have a big problem with my sf9.  Every thing is fine until the aircraft window comes up, then there is a black space across the bottom half of the screen.  If I right click the mouse, the panel view comes up, but nothing works.  It's the same with all of the aircraft.  I have done all the things that I know how to do, uninstall, reinstall, computer maintanence, defreg, clean boot, etc.  My fs2002 works just fine.  Anyone out there have a similar problem.???

Thanks, captjim

have you tried getting the latest video card drivers or directX9?

on a more straight to the point solution, try deleting your fs9.cfg and then opening FS... it will create a new file and reset everything...

not sure if it'll work, since you've reinstalled and all, but it's worth the shot

if you need help finding the fs9.cfg, go to fs2004 FAQ on this forum...

hope this helps

???captjim here again

Thanks Moach for the response.  Your answer was to the point, however a lot of this stuff is still "Geek" to me and I usually need a more basic instruction on how to do these things.  The other little problem is that sometimes whenever I click on a site, such as the "help" icon at the top of this page, my SBC Browser home page pops up and then nothing happens.  I have to close it in order to get back to the forem.  Could be a problem with SBC, I just don't know.  Now, how do I find out if I have the directX9 and exectly how do I delete the fs9.cfg???  Thank you for your patience, captjim

about the directx, go to start menu->run, type dxdiag... directx information screen pops up... there you can see which version you have

to update it, go to www.microsoft.com/directx and download the newest one (9.0c i think)

about the fs9.cfg go to documentes and settings\youruser folder\application data(hidden folder)\microsoft\fs9\fs9.cfg

simply delete the file... then run FS and it will automatically create a new one

hope this helps
