I guarentee that if anyone here had heard anything, they would have posted in every forum about it, and there would probably be a sticky.

Quite true. This question has been asked 100,000 times over! I can assure you if microsoft revealed the slightest detail we'd all know within days and it would be the biggest conversation in history too! ;D

do not dispair just yet

just because we didn't hear anything yet doesn't mean there won't be an FS2006

they usually release a new FS by the end of the year (i remember FS2000 was out around november 1999)

FS2004 was released way earlier than they normally do  ::)

c ya

I dont know about you guys, but Im not really sweating. I like FS9 despite its problems. my only real complaint is about ATC, but please lets not get into our complaints. When FS 2006 comes out, I will get it, but untill then I will just enjoy my FS9.

Hi all.

A very short while ago, Microsoft was actively soliciting people to participate in a program to have some input into the development of the next version of flight sim.  The information on that effort was posted right here on the SimV main front page, and there is also info about that effort currently on the main Microsoft FS2004 website.

I would say that based on this situation that there is no question if there WILL be a new version.  There will.

But if they are just now soliciting input..... don't expect it anytime soon.

best,

.............john

Joe,

True..... however in the communications I had with them if I rememebr correctly something like ".....the next version......" was mentioned in there somewhere.  But of course they could have been talking about the next version AFTER the current version they are WORKING ON..... which would be the one which will be released next.

best,

Actually, if the longer they wait, the better the sign it is.  It may mean they're planning something HUGE!  ;D
