Getting rid of "Parking brake" message

Postby beefhole » Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:02 am

To make a long story short, I recently deleted my FS9.cfg cos things were all messed up, and now I can't remember the command line to take out the parking brake message.

Could someone enlighten me ???

I don't remember what the specific tweak is either, but I remember that I found it by googling "FS9 Tweaks"....
Great edit, Bob.

To save you some time....try this....

Add the following line to the (SIM) section of the f9.cfg file:

show_brake_message=0

.....commoner..... ;)

Drummer...after I ran through and did every tweak I could get my hands on, I lost ALL of my annoying red text messages...of course I couldn't take a look at fps, but I was running so smoothly I didn't even care!

Where do I find FS9 Cfg. to make the changes. I did find such a file but become lost when looking for the suggested tweeks or the SIM file.  Thanks. Wildie ::)

I'm suprised nobody mentioned...

There is also HIDEINFOTEXT=0 but this causes FS to crash when you open the View Options.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

The reason I mentioned FS9Configurator, which I should have said before, is due to the ability to add line items, such as the toggle the brakes message, average FPS, and wing leveler on all aircraft, just to name a few.
