Looking for a clue.

Postby Robert_Bance » Wed Apr 20, 2005 12:10 am

Helo All,
I have downloaded a repaint job, for one my favorite aiplane. ( Md-11). This repaint consists of 2 Texture folders, which were added to the MD-11 folder in FS9,  and while  the editing of Aircraft.cfg was done by adding  the proper sequentail ftsim  etc..
The planes appear in the Variation area as well as ATC Id., but no floating images. Upon loading the planes, I get an error : Aircraft initialization failure. I have compared a working Ftsim 0 and  and new ftsim 3., and found essentially identical, but the difference in title; texture flag; atc-id, airline, and flight number and Variation.
What am I missing, that causes the error. ?

Hey Bob,
I may be a little confused from your post, but there are a couple things that strike me as odd.
1) You indicate that the repaint consists of 2 texture folders?  Someone might (and assuredly will) know better than me, but I didn't think you could have more than one texture folder for each specific repaint.
2) You mention ftsim 0 and ftsim 3.  I'm assuming you are referring to the braketed models in the aircraft.cfg file.  Do you have ftsim 1 and 2 models?  If not, that could be your problem.
I may be totally off base in my reading of your post, but those are what jumped out at me.

Thanks to Commoner, Mark_av and Moach, Your replies pointed out to a smart alec guy ( Me), who made an inappropriate change to the model tag in Aircraft.cfg. Once correction made, all came out OK..
Thanks again
Bob.
