Formation flying

Well i notise that people are doing formation flying shots in FS2004 but when i fly online if im about 20 metre away it still says theres a crash :/  is there any way to stop this?

As Scott says for close formation work turn Crash Detection off ;)

i managed to fly for hours about 50 meters from a cessna oncewith crash detection on... the thing is: when they are flying, they seem to leave some sort of invisible wake you can crash into, so don't fly directly behind them...

if you fly a wedge formation you can get real close to them without crashing

I never fly with crash detection on in FS, it is more of a pain in the arse than anything else when you almost exclusively fly short VFR hops in the 172 ::)
