ATC tower recognition

Postby ajadams » Tue Apr 19, 2005 5:24 am

I downloaded a Grumman Widgeon from another site.  When the tower calls to the plane, it says "Expirimental".
What do I change so it will refer to this plane as a Grumman, and not an expirimental?

In the aircraft.cfg file, modify or add these entries.

[General]
atc_type = Grumman
atc_model = G44

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

In addition, I believe...

uimanufacturer=Grummen

removes it from the "experimental" list when selecting aircraft.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Mine had the ui_manufacturer = Grumman  line in and it still would call it "Experimental".
