That is funny, I was just there trying to learn how to land one of those fast delta wing planes.

It is pretty sad when ya can't do a touch and go at that place, it just wouldn't slow down  :(

Titusville-X68 maybe? has a good 15k.  They launch and land space shuttles there.  Saw it from 30,000 ft on my last trip to FLorida. ;D

Area 51! That had very long runways in the first place - then they extended one of them, nearly doubling the length! that was a beast of a runway... oh no wait, my bad, that place doesnt exist does it..... ::)... what is the deal with area 51 these days anywayz. I dont really keep up with US Governmental blunders here in Sheffield, UK.

John

PS. Finningly (or Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield) has a long runway

KFOE, Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas: (Formerly) longest concrete runway in the U.S. at 12,802 ft.
This airport is just a few blocks from my house.

A couple more is CYYC Calgary 12,675ft, Winnipeg CYWG 11,000ft, Toronto CYYZ 11,050ft.  Maybe not the longest but pretty long IMO. Cheers!

I do believe the longest runway on earth is, in fact, at Area 51-but that isn't included in the default scenery, you'll need to dl it.

...varying statements as to it's length are from 6 miles to a wopping 12 miles...think it was made with the thoughts of new aircraft which just might come out but never did........a little OTT you might say....commoner ;)
