I strongly disagree with the money ideas incorporated into FS. If you want to earn money, there are VAs out there where you can earn virtual money, and invest it in a virtual stock market. I believe there are addons that deal with this also.

Realistic reliability features based on past handling on an aircraft would be nice. Abuse the engine too much, and it's more likely to quit. If a fuse, lightbulb, or a magneto goes out, you need to be able to deal with it.

Hay
I reccon that FS2006 should have more reallistic helicopter simulation and support for twin turbine helicopters.
As well as being able to land on boats and ships
I want to be a rotary wing pilot when im older , so any real pilots i would love some career advise!!!!

I would like to see the following:
-more Canadian content
-add on features which could include:
(a) aircraft from 1909 or before until 1914
(b)  aircraft of the First World War
(c)  bi-planes between the two World Wars
(d)  aircraft of the Second World War
and so forth and
(e)  aircraft manufactured by Avro
(f)   aircraft manufactured by deHavilland
and so forth...a disc of different aircraft manufacturers
(g)  a better flight planner and  navigation section
-do not want this to turn into a game but more of a learning tool, a "Flight Simulator"

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Why no option in the poll for better physics?  I for one think the flight dynamics need a bit of spiffing up.  Also, wind could be modeled more effectively.  I'd like to see it change directions and speeds instead of just jumping from a steady velocity to the gust velocity and back.  And if wind could be made to blow vertically as well as horizontally it would be great as it would allow modeling of thermals and ridge effects.  Maybe make the wind react to the terrain and texture maps?

I think that is covered by Aircraft flight dynamics and by Weather engine.

Just tick the appropropriate one.

With turbulence you might need a 32GHz machine ;-)

Could add runways though as they don't slope, change rolling friction, undulate etc.

It may sound kind of odd, but I think MS is doing a good job of choosing aircraft for FS.  They have a nice cross section of civilian aviation with planes I don't think most people would think to make thrown in.  Everybody that can will eventually make a Spitfire or Mustang; not a lot of people will make the DH-88 or the Vega.  ;)

Microsoft has no really strong incentive to "beef up" the hanger.... because all the freeware developers do that for them.....at no developemnt cost to them either  ;).  Microsoft has to add just enough new stuff to cause those with the older version to get tempted to buy the new version.

best,

A WINDOWS(OS) VERSION SPECIALY FOR FS!!!!!!

so that as you boot up yer PC, there would be a choice like...'WICH VERSION WOULD YOU LIKE TO START?, WINDOWSx OR WINDOWSmsfs?'

All this talk of eye candy.  What good is eye candy if the flight physics are in-accurate?  I can tell many out there don't spend much time flying a PMDG 737, Pheonix Dash-8, A-320/340, RFP 737 or Wilco CRJ.  Who has time to check scenery out and fly by the numbers and procedures?  I want to see FAA accuracy and I'm willing to pay 3 or 4 times the normal FS price to get it.
1. Better Flight Dynamics
2. Default Jets with at least partially functional FMC's
3. Realistic Garmin avionics that will allow flight plan entry.  Microsoft needs to realize that its NOT THAT HARD TO PREFLIGHT A GARMIN OR A GNX 80!!!!!  I had my realityxp Garmin mastered in about 30 minutes of use.
4. Cold and dark start-up option.
5. Yes, they should include jepp styled plates and enroute charts.  Every ILS airport should have a set of jepp styled approach plates.
6. Voice response support for ATC.
7. Correct modeling of air defense zones like the recently formed Potomac Tracon.  I want to see an AI F-16 intercept me should I make a procedural mistake in the DC airspace or get too close to Camp David
8. LORAN.  And no, don't anyone tell me its dead. I personally know pilots that still use it and I want to learn about it or my own curiosity.
9. Yes, MS should get consent from as many airlines as possible to use their real world paint schemes.  Why hasn't the richest company on Earth done that yet?  It would also be great marketing for the cash strapped airlines to partner with MS in FS.
10. MS's developers need to look away from their monitors long enough to read Flying magazine every month. That and other aviation publications should be job required study for them.
11. MS needs to develope quality graphics rendering logic that will be resource economical.  Sometimes it seems that MS and other publishers are in cahoots with intel and AMD due to the fact that yes, they make em look better but theres got to be a way to make more frame friendly graphics.
12. Yes, the weather modeling has improved.  Now, how about a default WX radar or a modeled weather uplink via the gps display so we can see whats ahead?
13. MS should recruit amatuer R&D people from enthusiasts in as many regions as possible in orer to consult and get things right as far as scenery goes.
14.  All national, state, and provincial capitals should be high res modeled and all airports serving those cities or any with a populaton of at least 100,000 should be accurate and include jetways.
15. If they have jetways, the jetways should be animated. The animation should be activated through the ATC menu.
16. Pushback command should be activated through the ATC menu.  So should ground power and fueling requests.
17. All venues for all the leading sports in the the world should be modeled. After all these years, there still isn't a default Daytona or Indianapolis Speedway.  I fly into Newcastle DE and Dover AFB a lot. It would be nice to see Dover Downs. Basically, if the sport makes billions and has fans in the 100's of millions, its venues should be depicted.

So, tell me, am I asking for so mich that MS will get fed up and quit?

Okay John, I'll give it to you that the real world airline liveries in the default planes is totally unecessary. Guess I was on a role.  But yes, they can remodel the flight physics without spending a ton. Do you think a small guy like Austin Meyer spent a ton or could even afford to? X-plane, despite the generic looking pits and the plain scenery still has the more accurate dynamics. In fact, other than time logging. it offers the same FAA endorsed PCAD training that Elite's software offers for a over $100 less.  I believe if MS wanted to they could do likewuse with their sim for no more money than was invested in X-planes flight modeling. They cold have an entertainment and training aid. why would they want to be able to sell to those who would normally purchase Elite or X-plane? Also, what would be wrong with a simple default FMC and a Garmin like navigator that allows flight plan entry? I can't see that the coding would be that difficult to allow that.  MS needs to do something as for the first time in the history of this franchise I have seen it discounted and rebated.  I havent seen that with FS 2002 or 2000. I think the way for them to increase their sales on this is to go for training aid status and appeal to the flight training community as well as the gamer.

i dident bother to read it all so some1 may have said this already ...
anyway i was thinking maby some "ENFORCEMENT" (like if u disobey atc f-16's will hunt youdwn and either shoot you down or force u 2 land but if so i hope u can turn em off 2  ;D )  better vc's and interactive terminals(loading cargo passangers etc) and some MISSION BASED challanges
well .... ive ran out of things 2 say  ;D ;D ;D
this is not mind control ... think about it
