Unwanted Gauges

Hi everyone been offline for a few months having an update can anyone tell me if there is some software out there to delete unwanted gauge files as i have stacks of unwanted gauges but dont know which to delete and it would take me forever.

I use the addon mgr at the bottem for unused guages removal. Although I think there is one that is smaller and just deals with guages. But I'm at work and cant surf to find it right now (cough) lol http://www.simviation.com/fs2004utilities4.htm

Here's the contents of the file_id for WipeGauges 2002, don't see why it wouldn't work for FS2004 either...don't recall which site it came from but a search for the author should pull it up.

"FS2002, FS2000, FS98, FS95, CFS, CFS2
WipeGauges 2002.
This utility remove gauges unused by FS
games. Allow scan, select, delete and backup
all unnecessary gauge files. Preserve
default gauges with customizable gauges

I've never heard of WipeGauges 2002 so I cannot comment on that particular piece of software. Personally I use what I consider to be an astounding bit of freeware by a very clever man by the name of Rana Hossain.
The program "Flightsim Manager" can easily be found by entering the programs name in google. As well as letting you organise and edit your entire FS2002/2004 fleet it will easily search for and remove any unused and unwanted gauges.

With the large capacity hard drives fitted as standard to most PCs these days I never saw any reason for removing unwanted gauges. This was important when the average HD was well under 1 Gb. Now, with plenty of space to spare they sit there doing no harm & might come in useful if you ever get interested in panel design.

If this concerns you, the best method might be to paste any included gauges into the Panel folder of a new aircraft. These will work in FS9 in the same way as pasting them into FS9\Gauges & allow you to check out the panel. If you like the aircraft & decide to keep it, transfer the gauges into FS9\Gauges. If not. delete the aircraft complete with gauges.
