Have answered all the questions. Maybe a little commercial, all that interest in other games.
Maybe a good idea. Let's see what happens ...

OK.......news flash here........ Microsoft is in the business of making money.  I know that shocks us all ..... but it is reality.   ;)

Of course the information they will be dealing with is "commercial".... it is to help develop the most saleable commercial product they can within their budget target for development.  "Know thy customer".

If this sim was so realistic that airline pilots were the only ones who could even figure out how to start the engines........ then they'd sell very few copies.  By the same token, if it were simply an "arcade game" ... they would miss appealing to a huge number of "flight sim addicts".

So they have to strike a balance somewhere.

They are likely screening for people who represent the broad market they have targeted.   Some selected will likely be "arcade gaming types"... some will be "casual users"....... some will be "power users with yokes and throttles and added payware"...... and some will be "fanatical simpit buiilders with a lot of money invested".  They will take the input...and then try to give each segment at least one "golden" feature that will attract them to upgrade to the new version or buy it to start with.

Since Pete has this featured on the SimV front page.... I imagine that he checked out the authenticity of the deal..... so "not to worry".

best,

This is bogus or spoof. I get these in my email claiming they are from EBAY or Paypal and I need to update my information, the link always starts with www.datstat dot com
I always get a return from Paypal or Ebay saying its is a spoof and the proper authorities have been notified.
Click on the link at your own risk.

This is NOT a spoof situation like the EBay or Paypal scams.

Go to the link below ..... it is the main Microsoft FS2004 website:

Just to clarify things a bit.......

If MS wanted me to fill out a lengthy survey to improve FS, even if it contained some personal info, I would be more then happy to do it.

However, the only purpose of the present survey seems to be to see if they want to install monitoring software on your system.
Home airports are KMGJ and KSWF in Orange County, NY
Stop by and say hello. :)
