Microsoft want to hear from YOU

Postby Mozz » Tue Mar 29, 2005 5:40 pm

Just in at Avsim:

Microsoft FS Team Wants to Hear From You

Posted: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 - 21:34
The Microsoft Flight Sim Team today sent us this item; "The Microsoft Flight Simulator team wants to hear your voice. Help us understand how you use Flight Simulator so we can continue to shape a product that all of our customers enjoy. Click the link below to take an initial survey to see if you qualify to take part in this important study."

You can take the initial survey in this important study here: https://www.datstat.com/playtest/Collec ... ticipating

(dunno why but theres a space between "interest" and "_in_participating" in the url. You'll have to remove it when you go to the url (or if someone could fix it  ;D))

Edited the link but it still doesn't seem to work... :-/

The link at AVSIM does though, but seems ridiculously slow...

I got thru to it tonight (about 9:00 PM Eastern USA) by using a copy / paste and adding the missing part in the navigation bar on the browser.  Filled out the preliminary survey..... there are lots of questions.

You HAVE to have a broadband connection to participate in this study from the sounds of it.   They will send you software that will automatically download to Microsoft after you are flying.

I too said "SimV".... since it was an option to select....which was actually an interesting fact.

best,

.................john

Probably no matter what anyone has to say, M$ will do it however they wish to do it, and no matter how they do it some will be happy and some wont.....so I'll just wait till it comes out and then decide if I want to change from FS2004....

I just checked the domain for this survey at Register.com, and it lists the owner as a George Dittmeier with DatStat, Inc. in Seattle.

The thing that makes me more than a bit aprehensive about all this is that filling out a survey is not nearly enough?
They also want personal info and to install what amounts to spyware that sends your FS habits back to who knows where every time you run FS?

No thanks. ::)

I got nothing to hide but, I value my privacy and the value of privacy keeps getting higher since we all have so little left of it anymore!

I totally agree with you. Even i thought of getting involved in the survey at first but if they are putting some program into your system which monitors my FS then as you said 'No Thanks'.
