PAI or UT?

Postby beefhole » Mon Mar 28, 2005 6:08 pm

After a recent trip to Florida, I decided that I needed more traffic in my game.  So I was wondering, what is the real difference between Project AI and Ultimate Traffic?  Do I really need to slap the bucks down for UT or should I be fine with PAI?  Which one would you recommend?

Just my opinion, but PAI suits my needs fine, without the need for spending the big bucks.....but I guess everyone's opinions are different...ya know what they say about opinions..... ;D

I would rather spend my hard earned dough on a good aircraft.... ;)

I also like PAI...keeps in tune with my self-imposed no payware policy.  lol
Great edit, Bob.

Ultimate Traffic is the best buy for FS9 and  . . . PAI can still used (added) along with it. Who has time to install every airline in the world complete with viewable and printable timetable? Also included is Planespotter which opens up another world to simmers which hasn't been addressed in PAI.

Buying UT will be the best money you ever spent

bill

$29.95

I use PAI and find it suits my needs, the plus is.................it's free.

I would suggest that you try PAI and see how you like it and how much your frame rates get hit with the amount of traffic you add. I have added quite a bit for the US and everything fine so far.

Then, if you want the extra that UT offers, by all means buy it and remove the PAI stuff. Not hard to do if you back up your default traffic as the README tells you to do.

I've used PAI for ages, and I've never printed or viewed a timetable.   ???  Why would I want to?

I'm with Hyp. Never done that, never wanted to. Most of the archives are self installing anyways, quick and easy. Sorry wji your claims are unfoundered.

PAI all the way, great addons for the best price around.

I've been using PAI for 2+ months now. It took a while to download & install airline/cargo packages but it's well worth it. I'm a computer noob, but installing was easy.  ;D
And it was free.  :D
I have no experience of UT, thinking of trying it.

Well, here's the deal-I've become increasingly lazy these past couple of months (I like to say "increasingly busy").  I'm just not willing to spend as long downloading stuff as I was before.  I like all-in-one installers, and perks with it.  Plus, I'm SWIMMING in cash (I get $10 allowance and never spend any of it!) so I'm going to have to got with UT.  Thanks for all the suggestions!

I just don't understand what the big deal would be-it's just 30 bucks (which for me isn't even a dent) ???

Seems to me they're both basically equal.  Is there any non-money related reason that I should not get UT?

You're right, $30 isn't a lot of money to a lot of people (myself included)...but if what you're saying is true, and they're basically equal, then why would you opt for the payware just for the sake of spending the money?

Because, as previously stated, I'm very lazy. ::)

I don't want to be downloading several packages (which can, and with me, often does, get messy) when I can get them all-in-one.
