You mean like pylon racing? If so, www.westcoastatc.com has a VA called PROPS that has the scenery and planes for this. And you can download the scenery and planes without joining if you desire. PROPS has two weekly practices in  between 'seasons' where you can fly with other people on a course and have it timed so you know who won and all.

The classes of planes they have are Biplanes, Sport, and Unlimited. Biplane flys Pitts', Sport flies the Lancair Legacy, and Unlimited flys the P51.

Depending on when you guys want to fly, I'd love to race with you.

There's a Reno racing scenery at AVSIM.  I've flown the course a bunch of times.  FUN TIMES!

Also check out the Virtual Air Racing Organization...if you google it you should be able to find it.

A year or so ago some of us were looking to start a competing group called the Simulated Air Racing Association.  If there's still interest, we could give it another go...
Great edit, Bob.

Just remember when air racing that there is likely going to be "lag" between the systems making it fairly hard to do it successfully.. ;-)

Count me in too though! ;-)

A)  They said that about formations, too.  Been there, done that.

B)  VARO doesn't seem to have any problems.
