Meljet 777 problems..

Postby f-16 » Sat Mar 26, 2005 1:06 pm

I recently loaded the Meljet 777-200ER for FS9. However when I shift my view in cockpit mode and VC mode, left, I am looking at a blue door/wall???? I have no 45 and 90 Deg. view left, all I see is a blue wall?? In both VC and cokpit views.

Has anyone seen this? Is there a fix? (please?) :-[

Hi,

yep, I've seen it. I think it can be solved be downloading an another panel. You need a complete panel, including all the views (left, right etc.). There are plenty of these panels available at this and other sites.

Good luck,

There is an easy fix to this, all you do is go into your aircraft.cfg and scroll down until you find

[views]
eyepoint=
I think the first figure is 90.0 alter it to 100  so the line is like below;
eyepoint = 100.0, -2.65, 2.25

and that should fix it.

Reap,

I tried your fix, but it doesn't seem to work. At least not with me. I did find a very good panel for the 777 from Meljet.

Find it on this site: http://mitchspanelshop.fsgateway.com/

I get most of my panels from here.

Actualy.. it worked for me. I set it to 98. 100 seemed to far away. I could not see my wing tip lights. 98 seems to do the trick.

Thanks for your help. I am also looking into that panel you sugested..

Sir Crashalot, I had the same problem. I was so bummed out that I almost threw the plane in the trash.

That is until Reap posted his fix, that is moving the eyepoint in front of that wall. Now it is one of my most flown planes. The cockpit is alright, so I still haven't downloaded a Virtual Cockpit, yet.

If you go back a couple of weeks in the posts you should find the same thing.

I'm not really sure that it you load another panel, that that will fix the problem. Now there is a virtual cabin program that lets go and grab a chair in the back. So once again I'm not sure that it will solve the problem because the eyepoint is wrong, unless that it changes the default eyepoint view.

Ok, so the fix Reap gave works. I will try it again someday. But for now I am happily flying this Meljet with another panel and no problems.

Cant take credit for the original post, I got it from someone else on here. I tried another cockpit myself, before the fix that won't fix it because its the VC thats the problem which is built into the aircraft, you have to move your viewpoint in relation to the VC.
Crashalot, if your cockpit works then you clearly dont need the fix. Do you have a meljet version without the Virtual Cockpit?

There is no VC anymore in my Meljet 777-200. It disappeared after installing this other panel. Too bad for some people, I never used it.

The Meljet 777 never had a VC (virtual cockpit) to begin with. Melvin provided a virtual cabin instead. And the "wall" on the left is part of that cabin. moving the eyepoint forward simply gets ya past the wall so the landscape is visible once more. without changeing the eyepoint, use of another cockpit will not make the problem go away as the vc views are coded into the mdl.

That's why sometimes after changing to another panel(in another plane) you are suddenly seeing both the sideview bmps of the 2D panel plus the original VC views (3D view). Again. moving the eyepoint forward solves the problem.

You're right about the VC. My mistake.
