Far as I know, cant be done with a .cfg edit.

Elevation realism in FS is improved by downloading/installing terrain mesh scenery files. There are freeware and payware versions available. You could search scenery downloads here at SimV and elseware.

There is one freeware site I found that has your area pretty much covered.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I Did find a bit of info on this via the site you suggested abouve, thankyou. ;D

Gentlemens,
Microsoft talks about the change in scenery LODs with the FS9.1 update. There was a comment (elsewhere) indicating that there is a value that should be changed in the scenery.cfg file that changes the way FS9 looks at the mesh files.
Reference was made to LOD19 and 21. I didn't grasp what actually happens. Can you blokes shed some light?

Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level in the Terrain section of the FS9.cfg file is the one you need.

I use FSConfigurator so it's hard to tell if it's all the one file of seperate files. The value should be set at 19 for LOD 9 mesh. 20 or 21 for LOD 10 or higher mesh. Dont change it if you don't need to.

Just be careful if you did the the FS9.1 update over the top of the NOCD fix instead of removing it first. I did and it was fine at first until I changed the value to 20/21, now I'm not so sure. I have it back at 19 but not sure it's as good as it was. There is a thread on Avsim about the install.

Andy

I remember putting it at 21, which gave my rivers and streems a depth of about 3 to 5 feet in real earth size, makes hills bigger. ;)
