FMC help ?

Postby lexxone » Mon Mar 21, 2005 10:33 am

Hello, Is there someone kind enough to help a newbie with a PMDG FMC problem, I find this new fmc overwhelming.
I would like to know if I can program this thing to fly out of and into the same airport.  I fly at CYYZ, for flight practices I would like to fly out of RWY 5 and back to RWY 24r.  IS this possible. And if so Would a kind soul be able to take some time and write a step by step FMC
input instruction. ( I do not know at all how to program an FMC )

Thank you everyone for reading this note :)

Yeah its possible, I'm really not the best at explaining things so the best thing i could tell you to do is go to their website and get the manual for the FMC it helps.  You'll get it eventually

I have tried thier website and others, they all say how to fly from one airport to another, my request is special in where I need info on the same airport.

It would be nice if someone wrote me a step by step.

Anyone up for the challenge ?

Well, the principle is the same.
now i'm no pro at this, but i'm goin to try and help you out]
hit the route (RTE) button
for origin put in CYYZ
for destination put in CYYZ
hit activate or something like that
go to the legs section put in CYYZ and then using the map,  put the waypoints you want to use into the FMC then hit activate when you are through

thats roughly how you do it, but I haven't spent that long learning about FMC's so its not going to be perfect

Here is another way to do it. Download FSNavigator, really easier to use.

The only drawback is that it is payware after the trial ends.

If that is unacceptable, there is a guide of how to do it in the help section? of your FS.

Sorry guys, I am still stumped, but thank you very much for tryin'.

the FMC I am trying to use Is the PMDG 738-NG.
the manuals for this unit,,, whether on their website
or the tutorials are quite vague. they explain how to fly from one airport to another. this does not help.

ON the default MSFS aircraft this procedure is easy. they climb to my selected alt, maintain it, fly, grab, and land ILS no problem.

What I want to do is, from CYYZ, to fly out of Rwy 5, clb and maintain 3000,,go to markham turn around,,, and land ILS on 24r.( 109.30 and 112.95 ILS for YYZ)

I managed to enter some info from trial and error, and actually got up maintained 3000 agl, but I can not land it, only manually, it wont grab ILS,
