FS 2004 freezes or restarts pc?!?

Hey all,

Kinda got a major and very annoying problem at the the moment with fs 2004, 3 out of 4 flights FS just either freezes or my computer restarts all of a sudden without any error messages!

Anybody help?

P4 2GHz Intel Celeron
128Mb geFORCE 4 mx440
655Mb DDR RAM
(any more specs needed please ask)

Ok did you do a full install of fs9 or a partial install?
Do you use the patch m$ relased?
Have you added any thing new latley?

yes i've patched to 9.1, i haven't added any add-ons, although i think i may have fixed it, give me a day and i'll  "report" back.

Hi T-E...remember to uninstall the 9.1 patch FIRST if you are going to uninstall FS9...otherwise you will encounter problems..commoner

I seem to have fixed the problem, i opened up "SERVICES" and shut down alot of things (like epson spool, Adobe LM and other stuff i dont even know) and then opened up task manager and shut down other stuff that may be conflicting, this seems to have fixed the problem but because i shut down alot of things i dont know which one was causing the crashes/restarts!

Do you think Norton Anti-Virus 2004 may have something to do with it?

First get this utility: FSAutostart from http://www.fs-gs.com/ and use it to turn off your services and background programs. Next turn on only five things at a time and try the sim. If it works then try another five etc until the sim messes up again. Now you have it narrowed down to five so just try those one at a time until the sim stops working again and you have the culprit.

Or you could just use FSAutostart all the time. It frees up resources so the sim runs faster and smoother and it will restart everything when you exit the sim.

Buy some fans and put them in.
