2 newbie questions about FS2004

Postby ajadams » Thu Feb 24, 2005 6:10 am

I just installed my copy of FS2004 and I have 2 questions.

1) all of my instruments in the cockpit, if I point the cursor on them, the name is weird.  For instance, the Horizon will read "Horizio'zio'zio'zio'zio'zio'" and the other guages are similar.  I have re-installed it once, but the game still does this.  How do I fix it?

2) Does anyone know where I can download a Grumman Goose?

Cool!  Thanks for the link.  I also scored an Electra and a Widgeon on there.

1.2ghz Athlon processor 512mb ram, extra cooling fan (blows air out of the case), Windows XP. HP Pavilion XT993 computer.  I did a full install, added the no-disk download (did this before and after the download).  It does this on every guage in every aircraft.

NOTE:

Just to be on the safe side [to avoid jacking up FS], remove the FS9.0 no-cd crack and then install the FS9.1 update. After that, install the new FS9.1 no-cd crack.

Just a note before you install the update.

I ran a Disk Degragmenter 8)

Click..Start
Click..Program
Accessories
System Tools
Disk Defragmenter.

This worked for me.   My files were everwhere  ;D
After running defrag it was ok 8)
Also I had and old version of flight simulator and this was causing a conflict.Delected old files. Try a virus check

I have the 9.1 update, and I installed it before the no-disk file. It has done this before the 9.1 update, after the install, andafter the no-disk file install. I'll try the defragmenter to see if it fixes it.
I have no previous versions of any FS program, Microsoft or other.  My system does a full virus scan 3x a week.

Ok, I've run Defragment twice, scan dick once, and virus scan once.  I still have the problem.

As far as I know, all of my drivers are current.  I did replace my keyboard about 4 months ago, and I am wondereing if that could have anything to do with it.
