FS 2004 Disk replacement file

Hey guys..... I had to reformat my drive with FS2004 because of a virus that Norton didn't pick up. Can somebody tell me PLEEEEZE where the file is that allows you not to have to keep the disk #4 in the drive while you're flying with 2004. I could have sworn it was in utilities or Misc.... but I can't find it anywhere....

Aha!!!!!  Thank you soooooo much. Curious.... I picked up a copy of Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator for five bucks (one of our Goodwill stores is a computer store and it's great). But, it's the one for windows 95 and when I loaded it up it completely screwed up everything. I realize that back then direct x  2 was the upgrade and I'm running everything for FS2004 (512Ram.....2.4gig processor...Nvidia card... but is my sytem too upgraded for this game??? It really looks neat, it's the European theater and my dad flew B-17s so I'm really anxious to play it. any suggestions as to how I should "downgrade" to play the game?????  LOL... very strange.

mind you, your chances of playing CFS on a current XP computer are none. XP needs DriectX 7.0 i believe, and most programs that require directX are using 8.0 and up nowadays.

my only solution i can think of at the moment (our basketball team JUST WON IL STATE class AA!!!) is to partition your computer for 2 different operating systems. run XP on one partition and say, windows 98 on the other. then you can run DirectX 2.0 or mabye, MABYE even 3.0

Not true, drumliner. I run FS9, PF, and CFS3 on my homebuilt Athlon-based PC using  the XP Home OS (yes, Home; shoulda got Pro, I know). All I had to do was install DirectX 9.

yep i can confirm what rottydaddy says i have run cfs1/2/3 on win xp with dx9. althrough cfs1 graphics not to hot compared with fs9............

Yes, but I think that's the program itself, not the OS.  Even CFS3 is more simply rendered than FS9. The gunfire, damage, etc. probably taxes that engine quite a bit, so they traded a little realism for that.

Thanks guys... I'm running Windows 98...512Ram...2.4g proc and directx 9. I'm just wondering if maybe my system is too fast or something. But I'll go ahead and load it up. Last time I tried, I had some other stuff running... so I'll shut it all down... and try it again. My dad flew B-17s in WW2 so I love that era of slight. Funny, I boarded a B-17 (Confederate Air Force) a few years back and was shocked at how SMALL it was.. LOL. I don't know what I expected but growing up listening to my dad I though it would be like a 747 or something.....what an idiot!!!!  He has passed on... and it was a strange feeling sitting in his seat.
