Which textures? Airplane or scenery or alternate default FS textures?
If they are for an airplane that works in FS 2004 then the textures should work also.
Some scenery textures work OK and others don't. Install them in their own folder and direct FS to that folder to try them out. That way if it doesn't work you can easily remove them.
If they are alternate textures for the default FS textures be very careful about overwriting default files. If they don't work you may end up reinstalling the entire sim to get it back the way it is supposed to be.
If you have the disk space then I'd suggest backing up your entire FS 2004 "Textures" folder before installing any 2002 default textures. If they don't work then all you need to do is drop the copied folder back into the sim and be back where you started.
