System Requirements

I would like to upgrade from FS98 to FS2004 and would like to know the system requirements. I would also like to know how to find out if my computer has each of the things needed.

I'm at work so I don't know them off the top of my head, but check out Microsoft's site....that will tell you whether or not you meet the MINIMUM requirements.  

Also keep in mind that those specs are what is needed to RUN the program, not necessarily run it well.

Post your system specs and let's go from there.

Dont Know about processor how can i find out.
Dont know about video card.

I have a friend with FS2004 would it be best to see if his will work on my PC before buying.

I wouldn't suggest it...Windows XP requires 128MB of RAM just to run the OS.  You're not going to have much (if any) left over to run the sim.

I'd stick with 2k2 for now.  But fear not, 2k2 is an awesome sim!

Hi cj....right click My Computer icon and click properties to see the processor and other things....right click the desktop then properties then settings to see the graphics card..least that's what my 'puter does.

As for using your friend's FS9 discs,,well THAT would be extremely naughty and I don't really think Mr Gates would like that at all.....but there again you must personally make up your own mind about that.  No body here would (SHOULD) tell you to go and do that...commoner  ;)

i meant that i see if it will work with my friends discs before i go and spend that amount of money at a shop as it is a lot to spend on something that might not work.

Well, technically that's still illegal, but seriously...if you legitimately run it as a test, uninstall it immediately, then make an educated decision to buy the program or skip it....that's not going to get you in jail.

Which is why they post the minimum requirements on the box.  It's got nothing to do with not being nice...they let you know whether or not it will work before you ever give them money.

The way to get away with it to get your friend to un-install it off his computer then you install it on yours, then un-install it off yours so he can put it back on his.  That way 1 license is spread across 1 machine not 2.
