Sim hangs on opening screen

Flight sim 2004 works on my laptop running xp but since installing xp on my desktop flight sim just hangs at the opening screen and stops responding. The computer is running 512 megs of ram and has a big enough processor, help.

Your problem seems very similar. Try the suggestions there first. It's possible this could fix it for you. If not maybe you can help each other out.
