anti aliasing

Every now and then I like to switch to 'spot plane' view just to see how damn handsome I look when I'm flying along (don't we all?).

I get a little put out at the jaggy outline of the plane, so I tick the 'anti-alias' box in the settings pages which I assume is meant to get rid of said jaggy effect and hey-presto the panel disappears when I'm back in the plane.  :o

Anyone know why that is, or have any fixes?

Well that's oine way of doing it...

The best way to do this is to leave it unchecked in Flight sim itself, and change the anti-ailising in your video card settings...

Gives you better performance that way..;-)

That is if you have a video card, and not integrated graphics. With integrated graphics (eg. intel extreme 2), you should leave the anti-aliasing on, it's the best way to smooth out the edges. You could try to increase the resolution your moniter displays at as well. The higher the resolution, the denser the image.

Not knowing for sure what graphics card you have I can only guess but the disappearing panels are likely due to the graphic card drivers. When this happens try switching Fs9 to window mode (Alt+Enter). Are the panels back now? If so then you need to update your video card drivers.

It's a bug that was common when Fs9 first came out until the video card companies upgraded the drivers. Not sure exactly which cards this applied to however. I had a GForce 2 when I first got Fs9 and didn't have the problem.

There are some things there to keep me happy for a little while. I'm at work now, so can't play, but I'll let you know if I get rid of the problem.
