Virgin Atlantic A380

Postby JonVic » Sun Feb 06, 2005 7:57 am

I have just downloaded the Airbus A380-800 by Robert Yersluys with the Virgin Atlantic textures, however the actual file that needs to go into the aircraft directory of FS is located inside the file that appears when you have unzipped the file that was downloaded. This initially confused me but now the plane appears in the game but has no textures, i just cannot work out how this can be i have put many planes in this game with no problems at all, any ideas?

Hi Jon..you really should say the exact file and where you downloaded from if you want some help...unless somebody already has it. These things do vary a little, so let's know the details eh? The textures for the aircraft are usually in their own folder called texture in the aircraft's own folder along with the panel folder and model folder etc....commoner ;)

Dont have thatt particular paint but another (United) that works fine

Open the 'aircraft.cfg' file (with notepad). Look in the [fltsim.0] section for the line 'texture=xxxx' and make sure it equals the 'texture.xxxx' folder extension.

i.e- If the folder is 'texture.virgin', the line should read 'texture=virgin'.

Cheers,
Dave

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Update: downloaded the a/c.

Problem is a typo in the texture folder name.

'textuer.virgin2'. Correct the spelling and all should be okay.

Cheers,
Dave
