A couple questions...

Postby Jlynall » Tue Feb 01, 2005 11:08 pm

Hey guys, i got a couple questions for you...

Where can i find American and/or United Airlines textures for 747s or 757s? I'm trying to switch all the fake airlines to real ones. I couldn't find any for these models.

How do you put in diagrams of airports n' such straight into the kneeboard? I saw one person had that, i can't figure it out.

Thanks for the help!

...not sure about the best way to do it but the kneeboard contents are HTML files which means in effect that the kneeboard is a browser........the kneeboard_keys HTML file in the main aircraft folder for instance is one such file  so if you save any web page as kneeboard_keys.html and replace the original (back it up maybe) with that new file then it will appear in the kneeboard..lots of potential there and if anybody is really clued up on this it would be nice for us all if a tute was made and posted (hint, hint. ;D)..sorry can't be of more help but that's basically how it works ..commoner ;)

There isn't a default 757 & there are plenty of United & American Boeings available for download - as well as textures for default aircraft - you just need to search .... it doesn't take long ;)

I would suggest heading over to www.projectai.com and downloading their airlines packages. That way you can see all your favorite airlines flying in the skies of FS
As for the kneeboard browser(top secert) i hate to burst your bubble but they have been freely avalable on many sites including this one for more than a year.Great little addon to keep you company on those long flights as well as for getting weather reports for you desitination.

If you just want liveries for the flyable aircraft then look around on the downloads here and at AVSIM. Lots and lots of RW airline liveries for just about every default or add on aircraft in FS 2004. If you want the RW airlines as AI then try Project AI that's been linked in this topic.

I imagine what you saw was a web browser modification to the kneeboard. You need the modified file for the kneeboard and a link to a airport chart lookup. Several of kneeboard browsers around the downloads pages here and at AVSIM and probably many have been made with links to the info you want. There's also an add on that lets you view the taxiway layout but I'm not sure whether it's pay or freeware or whether it puts the info into the kneeboard or a popup window.

You may be able to get by with FSNavigator. It's payware but a nice addition to FS 2004. It provides a flight planner and world map with the ability to zoom down to taxiway level.

I use the FS9 kneboard
FSSCREENSHOTS.COM

Paste this link into your kneeboard_keys.htm  file and you'll have every IAP in the world at your fingertips. (you may have to register FREE firsts)

Your AA repaints sound fictitious to me: Can't find any AA's at PAI nor in UT

...Jeepers no B_P....just need to know a tad about HTML and how to add it to the kneeboard_keys file..I have a whole bunch of links on mine, including the one that wji recommended above Thanks wji..very handy that one ;)) ...see ya..commoner.

For anybody interested, here's what I do.....

Open the kneeboard_keys.html (it's in the main aircraft folder) and RIGHT click on the page..from the menu select view source and at the bottom add any number of links like the two at the bottom of the picture....make sure the url of the site is between the " " marks and type your text (which will be what you see on the kneeboard) between the >  < as you can see on the pic. Click the red cross and YEs to save the changes....then open the Sim and the kneeboard will have the link at the bottom of the page. The A icon is the one to click on...to refresh or get back to the front page..click another icon and then A again. Any body has any refinements ...please post ;)

LOL....that's what's known as "artistic license" Jlynall ;D...anyway what's wrong with taking off a 747 from Meigs.....I never had a problem with that, even if it scares the sh*t out of the PPs... ;D ;D

Yea, who cares about the passengers? It's not like the airlines need them or anything ;D
