scenery glitch

Postby RitterKreuz » Tue Feb 01, 2005 10:56 pm

This might be old news, i dont know. But i just stumbled upon it on a flight this afternoon and thought i might share it with you guys incase some folks didnt know about it.

There is a 12,000 foot deep crevace with a lake at the bottom of it at these coordinates:

N37' 31.04"
W93' 38.11"

The closest airport is identifier MO3, Stockton airport in missouri. it is right near a lake which seems to spill into this canyon.

go check it out, would be a neet place to set up a cabin haha so long as you had a sea plane to get in and out of there.

MO3 - THe Missouri Hole...
NOt quite as deep as the arkansas hole (2AR6) and not place for an airport, but still fun to fly in

yes we know, one of M$' fun glitches

go to these airports:
SKYM- 65,000 ft spire next to -100,000 hole
2AR6 - arkanses hole - 3 miles deep
MO3 - missouri hole - 11,000 ft deep
SESM -  a little strip in a hole
80WA - grass strip floating 126ft in the air
39WA - another floating strip
KMKO - runways placed over huge holes
MXA9 - strip in crater - hardly room to T/O
LFLJ - EXTREMELY small runway off a cliff (there is a real life version, same airport)

Just flew to the bottom of that hole at SYKM, that's pretty wild, it's a looooong way down!  :o

The arkansas hole is fun too, nice bridge at the bottom, and trees growing on the side of the cliffs... :P

80WA is also in a 1500 ft. deep hole depending on the terrain mesh you use.  I use West Coast Terrain Mesh from fsfreeware and it's just that (although in reality it's on a prairie next to Lake Crescent.)
