Fun Glitches in FS 2004...

Postby Wing Nut » Fri Nov 12, 2004 12:19 am

So far, here are a few of the more fun goofs MS left for us to find in FS 2004.

You know, I had one complete with parking spaces and AI (they crashed a lot), but I chucked the whole thing.  Go figure...  ::)

There was a little dirt strip somewhere in Alaska that was at the bottom of a hole, several thousand feet under ::)

80WA should be a strip in a hole in Washington State?

The Arkansas crater is AWSOME, my tip is to fly the smallest plane possible (I use a Hummelbird) and circle down with the engine off. then once at the bottom return to cruise speed (I wouldnt do more than 100 Kts though) and explore. try landing on the little strip of land, it is cool. Im going to try my hand at airport building for this.

There's no way LFLJ is not a mistake.  The runway is like 150 ft long at the most.  But it sure is fun trying to take off and land there!

Both LFLJ and VNLK are real life airports!

LFLJ 'Courchevel' was used in one of the James bond films.  The sim doesnt fully represent it though. Its actually on quite a slope in real life so you have to land uphill!   VNLK is also on a slope in real life.

I found a fix that fixes most of the problems listed above.. ;D

I live about 15 miles from Stockton lake here in Missouri, the nearest airport is in Bolivar (M17), When I first installed FS2004 and took off from M17 I circled towards the lake, and saw that, and was like what the &^%$!!!!!!!

Why would you want to fix them?  ;)

I live in MO also, Saint Joseph to be exact. I sometimes fly out of Rosecrans Memorial (in sim world, not yet in real world) and Saint jo isnt well represented. But what can I expect, most people have never heard of this town. Also, for some reason there are two extra airports in sim saint jo that dont exist in real saint jo. One of them would be smack dab in the middle of our crappy part of town "The South End".

There is an airport in Canada, where, when you approach it, the airport actually slides across the land!!! Buildings, runway, and all!!! :o
