I built a box with several aircraft style switches and buttons for use with FS so that I wouldnt have to mess with the keyboard. Shortly after I added several new switches, I was flying in africa (Uganda, if I remember right), and I was coming in on final. as soon as I throttled back, and applied flaps, both engines shut down (Aero Commander 500). I was so surprised, that I neglected to extend the langing gear, and made a gear up landing. What had happened was, I had one of the buttons assigned to "auto Shutdown", appearently, when soldering one of the other switches in, I melted the insulation on the wire going to the "shut down" button. when I flipped the flap switch, it must have moved the wires just enough to make contact, and shut down the engines. It was a REAL accident. Ive since replaced the eroniose wire, and re-assigned the button to something useful.
