Ah the Brabazon or "big white elephant" as it was sometimes called. I saw it fly along the coast here once when I was but a lad. It was powered by 8 Bristol Centaurus 18-cylinder radial engines fitted in pairs & each driving one prop.
There was also the Saunders Roe Princess. A big flying boat developed around the same time with 10 Bristol Proteus engines working on the same principle as the Brabazon. Unfortunately the day of the flying boat was over. Several of these magnificent giants were cocooned at Calshot in the Solent for many years until they were eventually scrapped.
