I am thinking of getting a new video card thats under $100.  Which card would be the best for FS 9 play?

You can get a video card that's under $100 but to tell the truth you won't be very satisfied with it. Unless you are completely without one (like yours is fried or just can't handle the sim at all) then you should save up a little longer and get a good one. Pretty decent cards can be had for $150+.

Also if you are completely without one you may want to consider a used card until you get something really good. Used GForce 4 can be found for $30 or less.

I am going to have to agree.

If you just want to play the game, then you can get something like the ATI Radeon 7000-8000.  If you want to play it well for under $200 dollars, get an ATI Radeon 9600XT.

What can I say, I am an ATI freak.  ;D

(even though my next computer will actually be Nvidia based)

Look on ebay

Pick up a used ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. There are quite a few around because of guys upgrading to the 9800.

I did and I'm well pleased.

GeForce is old technology - don't touch it

I disagree the nvida FX5200 128 mb DDR sells for 99.99
Granted by the time you add tax it is over 100.00 but if you can come up with 100.00 a few dollars more should not break you. Now by no means is this a top of the line card but it is a great card for the price. I can acheive frame rates in the 30's even in bad weather. 8)
