Uninstall error, missing .dll file, and no scenery

Postby lizardofozz88 » Tue Jan 18, 2005 10:59 am

My problem,
I recently installed the patch and it was giving me errors of missing scenery files, but everything seemed to be there. I tried to uninstall the patch for fs9 and re-install it. During reinstalliation it had an error with installing. So i try to play fs2004 and the program would try to run but fail. I tried to go to add/remove programs and get rid of it that way but that didn't work. I called msft technical support and spoke with them for an hour and a half. But all they did was try to do the same things i did. We were able to delete the temp files and that allowed me to enter the setup and reinstall it. I started fs9 and it said i had a .dll error (if you can help i can post the actual name of the .dll) and i said no i wanted to terminate the program. It actually started up and then gave me a crapload of missing scenery errors. Sooooo...I am planning on erasing my hard drive and starting over. But if anyone can help me now would be the time.

I think that using System Restore might fix it, but it's only available on Win XP and 2000.

On XP it's available at

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

Try it out and be sure to restore your system to a date around a week before you installed the patch.

Cheers,

Rob
