Some of the d/l planes don't show up because of the panel files not being 100% compatible. You can check this by copying and pasting a similar panel folder to your 'plane's aircraft folder. Just remember to rename the default panel folder to orgpanel or something.

Hagar,

Thanks for taking the time to explain the steps to adding things IE aircrafts, panels, which ones fit which one and all of the like.

While I have added some without any problems, there are some that I just have given up on. But that isn't your fault by any means.

The one that really kicked my 888 was the FOKKer 50. ( I just love the name, FOKKer)Especially the panel. I searched for hours to find the orginal panel, as I had found the updated one, then. Well then oh my my my.  I have to remember just never hit shift 8, as it terminates everything. The 'send an error report' thing comes up. What a pain.

Trial and error man, just click on everything but if you don't know what it does, just don't hit the OK button. That is my moto. Sometimes this has caused some serious problems, but that is what that start up CD is for  8)

Well enough of my rantings, and takes again to everyone that helps out new people. It sure does make life easier.

Providing they're not huge files I will happily walk anyone through installing any file from this site. I've being doing this successfully for several years now & can't do more than that without sitting alongside you & showing you how it's done. I can do it on this forum or by E-mail, whichever you prefer. Unfortunately Brown hasn't answered my question & I'm not a clairvoyant. I have no idea which one of the 1,000s of files posted on this site alone he's having problems with. If I knew that I could download the file & check it out myself. I could install it to my own FS9 & give detailed instructions on how I did it. From what I can make out he's trying to add a repaint to a default aircraft. In this case the aircraft should already be installed properly & show up on the menu.

Can install managers like Addit Pro cope with repaints? I haven't tried it but I very much doubt that any utility can handle all situations. Everyone has their own way of doing things. My advice has always been to learn how to do the job properly from the start. Then you will soon find out how sort any little problems yourself. ;)

Hagar,

yep that was the place that I went to, as you'll notice they don't have one of the files that you need hosted there. The links are to problem sites, in my opinion.

OK now I'll get honest, I'm not really sure if this is the place but here we go.  I joined flightbase 2000 and there were alot of flights with the FOKKer 50. Beings that I had some sort of a problem with one of there planes, it was translucent, I came here to get the FOKKer. Only one problem, I couldn't get/find the panel here.

Also this was my first panel addon that I have done. A little confused I was, ok still am, BUT thanks to you and others that have shared your expeirance, I made it through it all. As a matter fact, it all works except when I go to cycle through the drop down menus. Shirft 8 makes everything come to a screeching halt and closes FS 9.1 Just turns off.

Speaking of instructions, they are there for a reason, and I read them more than once. As for how the panels work, oh man, done really have a clue. I'm starting to get the basic drift though.

I'm a little tired now so you'll have to excuse the seplling, I've been trying to land a LAX for about three "go around". Almost got ran over by a project AI pilots 747 , wing tip to wing tip. That is one great big plane  :o

Thanks and I won't quit learning,

OK. That looks a fairly complex panel. As they're all configured differently I don't know what Shift + 8 does on this particular one. It sounds to me that the problem is caused by a gauge used on the pop-up window. I have no idea which gauge or gauges this might be. Your problem is possibly caused by one or more gauges being incorrectly installed , missing or incompatible either with FS9 or your video card. There are so many possible variables these days & what works on my system might not work on yours. It might also be caused by a 3rd party module like FSSound.dll in which case a simple tweak to fs9.cfg should fix it. I'm sorry but I have no way of telling without trying the panel myself.

Open the zip folder and you should see a folder called aircraft..open that and there is a folder called Meridian B1900D...yes?....put that folder (the whole folder) into your FS9 Aircraft folder..then start the sim and select Beechcraft in the select aircraft menu....Meridian will be there...should look like this ...commoner ;)

Right on Commoner. You beat me to it. :)

PS. This one's configured as a separate aircraft. Install it like any other 3rd party aircraft.

OK. I've done my best. I suggest you try Addit! Pro as Rmac recommended earlier. Please don't tell me this link doesn't work. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004utilities4.htm

I did the whole process and it still did not appear . I was wondering if you had to do anything with the aircraftF .     I went to the site and downloaded it again fresh then went to Aircraft CGF put those in Merdian 1900D   Then went and B1900.D air and put it in there ,        then I went to model and put them in the merdian 1900B folder then put all of them model, texture, sound and panel extract to specific folder in the main folder Merdian 1900D        Then I went to model selected all of them then put them on texture selected        I followed the same process all the way though model ,panel , texture, sound     Then I went to flight simulator 2004 screen select aircraft clicked on beechcraft manufacturor then aircraft below and meridan was not there any ideas why ?

I don't give up that easily. Let's start again, right from the beginning. I'll show you the method I've been using to successfully install 100s of aircraft to my own sims for well over 5 years. This is the easiest & quickest method I know.

For this example I'm using EasyZip to extract the files. I posted the link in an earlier reply. WinZip & the WinXP onboard unzipper have similar features.

Right, here we go then. Please follow my instructions carefully.

First download the zipfile to a folder anywhere on your HD. My download folder is named C:\Downloads. When download is complete use Windows Explorer to locate the file you just downloaded. Here it is.
Image

Before you can install the aircraft you need to extract the zipfile.

Right-click (right mouse button) on the zipfile & select the Extract to C:\blah\blah option from the drop-down menu.
Image

The files will be automatically extracted into a new folder with the same name as the zipfile right alongside it.
Image

Open this new folder to find the aircraft. This will be the folder directly containing the Model, Panel, Sound & Texture subfolders. In this case it's the Meridian B1900D folder.
Image

To install it to FS9 right-click on the Meridian B1900D folder & select Cut.
Image

Navigate to the Flight Simulator 9 directory & open the Aircraft folder. You should see all the default aircraft inside it. Right-click anywhere in a open space in the window & select Paste.

Image

The new aircraft is now in the Aircraft folder along with all the others.
Image

Fire up FS9 & check it out. I guarantee this will work as I've just done it. ;)
