Hi flyingbart...Assuming you have the FS9 disc #3....you'll find dem4km.bgl on there, in MSGAME8.cab. just try replacing the old with the new by using "copy and paste" or whatever your favourite method of "file shifting" is...happy flying..commoner ;D

As you said you 'found' the original file on your hard drive, you know how to use Windows Explorer.

In Explorer, simply open the CD as you would any other drive, find the file using Commoner's directions, and copy to the proper folder within your Flight

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

......OK....put the disc in the drive....double click My Computer icon on desktop or click START button and then My computer ...you should then see the FS9 disc #3 icon showing in the CD drive....yes? Right click it and from the drop down menu select OPEN...then double click the little Blue cabinet called MSGAME8...one of the files in there is what you are looking for..they should be in alphabetical order look hard 'cos there are lots in there. .....you then click it once to select it and click on edit then COPY...Open the FS9 root folder and then scenery and it find the BASE folder, open that and you should see the dem4km file there. If you wish you can rename it for safety sake and then click edit and  PASTE the new one in there...hope you can follow all that..commoner ;)

..is this the message you had?........if so then so long as you put the new one in the right folder it SHOULD be ok....  FS9/scenery/BASE/scenery..YES?
