Question about a parameter

Postby jordonj » Sat Dec 11, 2004 6:06 pm

I just installed the Victoria Falls scenery (for reasons that will be obvious...hee hee)

The thing is, I had to edit a line in FSconfig.

TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20

What does that control?  Will it adversely affect my scenery...or is a higher number better?

That number defines the resolution of the terrain mesh.
The higher the  number the  higher the resoulution that can be shown.

I think thats right ....... I'm sure I'll be corrected if not.

Well, I just noticed that my simulator has taken a performance hit!  I'm going to change it back and see if that was the cause of it...

..guess you are right there eno...mine has been at 19 since the patch.....never tried changing it though but I can see that performance might suffer with higher numbers....commoner ;)

Well, I changed it back but performance didn't improve...

I'll have to try something else...
