Well Done XJR....now get the Des Braban panel as recommended by RCAF_Gunner...it's real cool and just change the new panel for the old in the Lancaster folder...so simple..Happy Dambusting..Commoner  ;D ;D ;D

Hey Tim - does the 'XJR' refer to a two wheeler by any chance?

That Avro Lanc had me in just the same trouble when I first got it.  Fly's great, but if you want the 'bees knees' of Lancs, then go get 'Wings Of Power'.

I can also recommend the Des Brabban sound package.

A neat trick in using it is to go to "Tower View" and fly the aircraft in from a distance so that it passes directly overhead as low as you can ( it is best if you have a mini panel showing with the basic blind flying instruments to do this accurately without crashing).

The simulated "doppler" sound effects from the Lanc's slightly out of synch 4 Merlins as it approaches, passes overhead and then roars away is one of the best experiences in FS.

Reminds me of the day about 10 years ago when completly out of the blue, the BBMF's Lancaster roared directly over my house at virtually nil feet whilst stunting at a local airshow.

It sounds good with other aircraft too but not as good as this Lancaster soundfile. ( You'll have a good idea of what it was like to stand on top of the Mohne dam on the night of 16 May 1943).
A couple of years ago I visited the Mohne dam and u can still see the repairs to the masonary.
