I recently upgraded my PC monitor from a CRT to a 17"TFT, with a max resolution of 1280x 1024.
Now I was quite happily running my Sims at 800x600, but now I am using 1280x1024. The improvement in graphics is fantasic and frame rates do not seems to have suffered too much. The improved detail is most apparent when viewing detail in instruments on panels and mini panels.
However there seems to be a big downside to this . The menu screens when using "Create a Flight" etc. are now much much smaller. It seems that FS is set up to only produce a given number of pixels on these menus.
Is there any way of overcoming this . I cannot find a way of doing it in any of the settings ?
