Pushback steering

Postby moops » Tue Dec 07, 2004 11:17 pm

According to M$  to steer during pushback you are to press"1" for left  and "2" for right or vise versa I cant remember. ::) Well whenever I try to steer during push the aircraft never turns. Does anyone else have this problem? ???

Yea i have it as well, i thought it was just my fs9.

It sucks because you have to do a full U-turn after you pushback.

It's a little confusing at first.

To turn the tail to the left you have to do "shift" + "p." Shift is depressed, hit the "p" with shift down, then release. Then immediately hit 1 after that.

To turn the tail to the right you have to do "shift" + "p." Shift is depressed, hit the "p" with shift down, then release. Then immediately hit 2 after that.

Hitting the opposite number will turn the aircraft in the other direction while in reverse. It takes a couple of seconds to respond. Just remember to hit the number 1 or 2 just once between turns.

Hittiing shift + p again will stop all reverse.

Hope that made sense.

Cheers,

Gus

Heya Folks,

Here's how I do a manual Pushback with the keyboard:

1.)  Press Shift + P
2.)  Let the aircraft roll backwards for about 15 seconds then
3.)  Press and hold down the 1 key to have the aircraft turn left or the 2 key for the aircraft to turn right.  Once the aircraft begins turning you can release the 1 or 2 key.

I have become accustomed to using the excellent Pushback Gauge and Taxi Speed Panel by Rob Barendregt.  Just search for RCBgh-32.zip.  It's a must have!!

Initiate pushback with Shift+P.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

All correct answers, I'll sum them up-press 1 or 2 immediately folloiwng shift+p.  You don't have to hold anything down, you can give any commands you want after, just press 1 or 2 immediately after shift+p.  That's all.  ;)
