That was a little uncalled for.

And I wasn't necessarily saying they should only take into account Washington State or my area - I was just using my area as an example. I apologize if I rubbed people the wrong way about it. I wasn't saying "Hey, look, they should apply this amount of detail only to this area and screw the rest of the world."

As for bridges (like freeway overpasses, etc, we could se default scenery objects and whatnot - maybe specific detailed models for larger more complex overpass systems - like where I 405 and I 10 in California meet.

I think most of you are taking my previous posts out of context.

You know what I think they should have in fs2006? animals. For example, you're flying a transatlantic flight and suddelny an albatross goes down an intake. For those who dont know, it will look a bit like this...........

or maybe you can get cows crossing the runway!!!!!!   Who knows - the possibilities are endless!!!!!!!1
You call it running away, I call it making a tactical withdrawal.

Sorry - nothing personal. Apologies if you're offended as that was not the intention.

All your suggestions sound fantastic unfortunately many are way beyond the scope of  a single new sim version. I have to agree with Roller Ball that Microsoft can't make everyone's neighborhood perfect.

Also many of your suggestions are possible with FS 2004 as it is but you may have to spend some money on some while others may be free. For one you mention the inaccuracy of roads in ACOF. This can be fixed with the payware add on USA Roads. Rivers and streams can be taken care of with another available add on (I think it also provides roads with the rivers and streams. Not sure since I got USA Roads myself when it first came out).

Other things like moving cars on the highways are probably beyond the graphics capability of present day computers. Imagine the frame rates of world wide dynamic scenery like that.  :o

Other points you make sound good but I doubt Microsoft will include them although I wish they would. I particularly like the idea of having more than one flyable airplane in a flight. I use a space sim called Orbiter that allows you to place as many ships as you want into a scene (You still have to switch between them with a popup menu but you can fly from one ship to another in another area of the sim).

It would be nice to leave an airplane at one airport and then take another to somewhere else and come back to your original but I doubt that Microsoft has this idea as a priority.

Other ideas however may be possible like the Northern Lights (or Southern Lights). That sounds like just a matter of working with the effects. Maybe someone with experience in the MSFS effects can work on this. I'd download it if they did.

The helo sounds are a good idea but even those can be fixed with a little sound file editing. The GMax Gazelle has some pretty good start up and shut down sounds and I have one helo I downloaded that has a very realistic start up sequence (unfortunately it doesn't come with documentation so it took me hours to figure out how to start it up  ;D ).

Some of your suggestions I just about bet we'll see in the 2006 sim and others I doubt but most of all I hope to see a sim with a little less impact on system performance along with the other improvements.

:D

That has to be one of the most incredible and bizarre suggestions I've EVER seen on SimV.

Mind you, I guess there are worse places that an albatross could go into... ;D

As Ive mentioned before, the only thing that worries me about fs2006, is that they will concentrate to much on graphics, and you will have to have a very high end machine to run it.

You mean kinda like the engine failure that has been included since FS2002? ::)

Seriously, most of what everyone suggests on these forums is available for FREE if you just take a little time to go look for it.  Like the animals?  Try getting a freeware BGL placer (like the one available in the M$ SDKs) and adding some stuf to the airports?

There are so many things you can do to FS that aren't hard and don't require you to buy ANYTHING.  Just utilize what tools M$ provides for you: the SDKs (innumerable tools and tips) and Gmax.  There are also several FS programs people have made for free use.  FSSC (Flight Simulator Scenery Creator), CfgEdit and many others.  Those are the freeware ones.

No one has any reason to complain if they don't go research and try first.

I think it was a joke if im correct but shoot even if its not how wants to be putterering along in a Cub and see stationary birds  ::). I hope FS2k6 focuses on graphics to tell you the truth, I dont mean every building in every city but if they only fixed 2 things in FS2k6 I would want Mesh comparable to FSGenisis or FS Global 2005. Thats my 2 cents

Gunnerman,

So I assume that you are ready and willing to PAY for the new stuff that is to be added to the sim?

I suppose they could come out with a "SF2004 gold edition" or something, that includes all of the payware adons, and charge 80 - 90 USD. its a thought.
