Radio frequency change locked

Postby sk83k » Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:59 pm

Came across a problem whilst flying my 737 for an ILS approach. when I went to tune the nav radios to the ils frequency the frequencies wont change. All the frequencies apart from the squak transponder will not let me adjust them.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dom

Sounds like just another temporary ms glitch.  Restart, see if that helps.

I take it you know that you have to set it in  Standby position (right side number) then click the <->  to move it over to the active position? (left side number)..You can't change the left hand of the two numbers (active) directly.......otherwise ???? ???..commoner

It sounds like anothe aircraft cfg problem to me.
If you open the aircraft cfg file of the B737 and look through it you shold find a section that looks something like below
[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1       = 1
Com.1         = 1, 1
Com.2         = 1, 1
Nav.1         = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2         = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1         = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1      = 1
It must look like this or you will not be able to use them correctly.

Yes I am aware that you have to change the number on the right first. I also have had the problem on all the planes, rather than just the one, so i don't think it is an aircraft.cfg problem.

All my aircraft.cfg's have the right text so i have no idea.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Have you tried using the keyboard shortcuts to change the radio frequencies?  That way you can help identify whether the problem is with the panel or the radio itself.

Yeah, Ihave tries selcting each type (nav,com,squawk) with the keyboard shortcuts and then increasing them but they still won't change.

Ideally I would like to reinstall fs2004, but i was loaned it on OEM DVD edition and now i can't reinstall it.

Any more help would be very much appreciated.
