Lear 45 Gauge problem !

Postby Spidious » Mon Nov 22, 2004 11:07 pm

I can not get my Lear gauges to show up.
Am not sure what is wrong. Below is a copy of the Lear45 aircraft and panel files...
What should the actual panel files be pointing to ?
I have found some in the gauge section that said lear45 I tried renaming to Lear_45 like the panel sfg. says. But they still will not show up...
Here is a what the instrument panel looks like ?

Your panel.cfg looks fine to me.

Check to see if you have a Lear_45.gau file in your FS9 GAUGES folder. There is one MAIN Lear gauge, which is the one above, and then you might see all those gauges listed as seperated gauges also.

The only think I can think of is you are either missing the Lear_45.gauge or missing each individual lear gauge file.

UPDATE!!   Ok, did some checking with my CFGEdit and the stock Lear Panel. Here is what I found.

I have the MAIN (or Master) Lear gauge, which is the Lear_45.gau   In this main gauge is all the other gauges.

Then I also have many, if not all, the individual Lear gauges that probably came from downloads and more than likely FS2002 acft.

There is a difference in how these appear in the panel.cfg as to which you are using.

The way your panel.cfg file is written with the Lear_45!whatever.gau means it is taking it from a MASTER Lear gauge, which means in your Main FS9 GAUGES folder you must/should see a gauge Lear_45.gau

If you were using say an individual lear gauge such as the aoa gauge, your panel.cfg would read for that gauge........
lear_45.aoa.gau

Note the difference. One uses a capital L and lower case l and also the " ! " versus a " . " behind the 45.

The "!" indicates you are pulling a gauge from a Master  Lear Gauge OR a Lear Gauge folder in your Main FS9 Gauges folder.

The way your panel.cfg is written up, you must have the Master Lear Gauge ( Lear_45.gau ) installed in your GAUGES folder. Bet you don't have that gauge.

Sure enough. I do not have one that says Lear_45

Do not even see it on the disc # 2 for FS9

So what I am going to try is to change the ! to a . and see if that works.

Not sure why the gauges, have never worked with the original Lear that was on the FS9 ?

Well I tried it and got the screen save below. Some show up but not all (plus they look kind of strange ?). I would like to change it back to the ! file... But does anybody know where I can get the Lear_45 folder from ?  Or where the heck it is on the disc ?

Hey solved my own problem !

Looked and looked for Lear gauges and found one where a person had modified it to show the center post. Inside of his modification was the Lear_45.gau

Was about 2.54 MB

Put in the gauge section and now i get the below screen save !

I am so happy !

Anybody know how to lock the front wheel so it isn't so sensitive when taking off ?

Glad you got the gauge/panel problem worked out. As I said earlier, your panel.cfg looked just fine...........so it had to be you were missing the correct gauge.

Can be a pain sometimes.

Sry tho, can't help you with the wheel lock thing.
