Aircraft .cfg file/folders?

Postby alb469 » Fri Nov 19, 2004 5:24 pm

Hi
I am trying to add an existing repaint to Mike Stones PBY and in the readme it says to add info to the aircraft.cfg file, however we cannot find this file. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.  :'(

First off, can you find an aircraft.cfg on any other a/c? Secondly, what version of windows are you using? You should enable known extensions if you haven't already.
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
GeForce FX5200 256Mb
1GB DDR400 DC
Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD
Windows XP Professional X64 Edition

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

The Aircraft.cfg file is in the main folder of all aircraft. in with the Model, Panel, Sound & Texture folders. You can edit it in Notepad. If you're having problems identifying files my Working with Windows article might help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/windows.htm

Good Luck with adding your new repaint(s)
once the aircraft.cfg is found, here's some notes on what to look for:

File-Section that controls texture
[fltsim.0] must be numbered in sequence
title=Lockheed C-130 USA  (this must be different for each aircraft)
sim=c130 don't change
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=ABC  (texture.ABC folder- new repaint)
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=N1234
atc_airline=USAF
atc_flight_number=1123
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed
ui_type=C-130
ui_variation=USAF Mike Stone ABC this must be unique and shows in FS aircraft selection menu
description=
atc_heavy=0

Notes above are in red

Hope this helps,
bill
