I suspect it will be the wings of power B-29 when I get it running on my system.. ;-)

I'm hoping that I get it for my Birthday coming here on the 23rd... ;-)

This is my alltime favorite plane. The AC 500 Cargo. The dirty version, gauges missing, never washed, a total waste. But it flies like a dream. I'm taking it on a world trip now. Started in Holland at Schiphol Airport (EHAM) and I try to do as many countries as possible. I am in Yemen so far, on my way to South-Africa.  8)

My all time favorite freeware aircraft is the BAe 146-200 by Jon Murchison of Aircraft Repaints of New Zealand with the optional "cold start" realistic panel by matthias Leibrecht.  Clearly rivals and even surpasses much payware.

My "stock" plane that I fly most of the time is the Fed Ex livery one.

Also check out their AI aircraft that you can install that have ground support and tugs!  Changes your AI for the better.  And they have more coming I hear.

J Baymore,

Bae 146-200 flies and looks great exept on the main part of the airplane, the tail section is clear, but the main body is fuzzy and not good details on my PC, any helps to get better deatails on the fusulage? A great plane to me has to fly and look sharp and have most of the inside stuff, espaically the Nav, Inst. working correctly.

Thanks for any help You can give, JFG.

JFG389,

Hummmmmmmm.... sorry...... I have no idea why you have blurry textures.  I don't.  Which livery do you have problems with?  Or all of them?

As to getting into "realism".... make sure that you install the BAe Project Version 3.0 cockpit panels by Matthias Lieberecht (included in the download) that were designed to go with it.  (The default panel is minimal.)  And make sure to follow the explicit instructions for the installation (requires config mods).

That panel system of his runs pretty much independent of the M$ controls..... and supposedly models the 146-200 pretty closely including hydraulics, electrical, APU, and so on.  With that panel installed.... there is absolutely no option of a "fast start".  You have to follow the checklists correctly and it is easy to screw it up.  It takes a 99 page PDF manual for just explaining the panels / systems.

best,

Man, I can't decide.  I fly mainly default planes.  Probably the Baron for the best all-round.  But I also like the 737, King Air, and the Cub.  Heck, I like 'em all.  Depends on where I'm going and why I'm flying.  For pure seat of the pants flying fun probably the Cub.

Thanks J Baymore,

For your quick reply. I have only the Air France livery and don't really know how to add a different control panels. I use the Betaforge ADDONs  softwaree to install just planes.

I think my problems with blurry outside textures lies in the fact that I had my Global aircraft setting at minimums. The Bae... looks a little better, and espically the lighted windows at night flying with these adjustments.
I am still testing the plane and its Avoincs, but I wish it had bigger radios and clearer switch identifers.

Thanks for your helps JFG IFR and ILS Sim Pilot

As my forum name might imply... the F-16 (Viper model)  ;D

What can I say, it gets me where I want to go, FAST! I kind of have a sentimental connection to it too I guess, my grandpa (now retired) was one of the engineers on the F16 project at General Dynamics.
