Missing airport

Postby jordonj » Tue Nov 16, 2004 10:03 am

I just noticed this.  At my home airport of KTVC, there's a big white barren square!

I figure a scenery file got corrupted...anyone know how I can fix this?

My instalation doesn't have this problem so i suspect a corrupted file or a sceenery file that is not right.  Try moving any addon sceenery to a safe location so the addon sceenery directory is empty. Run FS and see what happens. It the problem goes away then the addon sceenery is at fault. If the blank areas are still there then I'm affraid its time to reinstall FS.

I just did so too! >:(

Actually, I wonder if Manuel's Service Pack 3 may be the problem (I don't remember noticing it before I installed it)

Looks like one of your tarmac or concrete textures is missing. There are several files and some airports use more than one so you get concrete in one area and are missing it in another. Try extracting all your default textures from the installation disks and putting them into ACOF.

Actually, I've noticed that some of the textures will reappear when I look at a certain angle...I wonder if Active Camera is to blame...

Al Heline introduced me to a term today...PFM...which stands for: Pure Fschk_ing Magic.

I did a little checking and trying different textures (none of which got rid of that annoying white spot).

I had a local airport that i used to frquent a lot...

just recently the runway would act that way where you would see parts of it, but never right where you were, that was all grass/dirt...

A quick remake of the afcad file and I was all set up again with no problems since.. :-)
