Most Realistic Water Effects ?

Postby Spidious » Thu Oct 28, 2004 7:25 pm

I am wondering who has the most realistic water effect on their computers. I have tried many different ones and combinations of different ones. But I still am not satisfied with the results.
I really wish it would have rolling wave effects instead of the way it looks now. But not rally sure if FS9 is even capable of doing that. Water like on Splinter Cell would be great....

So far I have tried waterzone, InstlWat, inlandwater and pwover15 (which had really bad looking white caps) So I used new_waves (smallwaves). Which so far has the best looking water using everything in the pwover15 except the oceanfield bmp

Not sure why the picture didn't work the first time. But now it works. The little dots lines look kinda strange ?

The water effects are generally best seen from higher altitudes.  If you get too close, that's about what it looks like.

Above like 100-200 feet, though...that's an entirely different animal.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.
