Rogue parking aircraft

Postby tapple » Wed Nov 10, 2004 8:56 am

Hi everyone. This is my first post in the forum and I have searched for an answer to this question but with no success.

I have recently installed the AI package on page 43 of the fs2004jets section of the site. However, I've noticed that at some airports e.g. Heathrow, the majority of the AI aircraft are parked on open areas of tarmac, rather than at the terminals. Is there a way to get the AI aircraft to park only at vacant spaces at the terminals?

Thanks

Hi tapple, welcome aboard.

AI aircraft park at suitable parking places according to the order they appear in the list.

Suitable = big enough to accommodate the AI aircraft's radius and not allocated a specific parking or airline code that would conflict with the AI aircraft or its airline.

You can see the list by opening the airport in AFCAD and clicking on Lists...Parking.

What you are saying means that the open parking areas are above other preferred parking spots in the list so all you need do is identify the ones you prefer and move them in AFCAD higher in the list, above the others. Then resave the airport.

If this doesn't mean too much to you, you need to get hold of and learn about TTools and AFCAD - essential knowledge in anyone's book  ;)

Open Areas can also be caused by the fact that some buildings are not displayed when the scenery complexity and autogen density sliders are below maximum (having them maxed is not always practical, I know that first hand). Afcad can get rid of certain gates and ramps but I won't help you there, I'm not good at explaining things ::)

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they
