Hey, Politically incorrect, notice also they say 'addressed' the problems, clever way of saying 'we may not have fully fixed them' but then again, I'm just being pedantic... ;)

LOL...!

jordonj,

I installed it last night and it didn't reset a thing, all my addons are still there and my settings never changed. The only thing that I did have to do is update my FSUIPC version to 3.40.
The thing is, you are still a live when they start to eat you.

Where the heck did you read that?

Microsoft's website has a serious set of "cautions" posted on the downloads page for this patch that says it will overwrite various things that users may have changed with add-ons.

Same place I read it and also the link that Fozzer posted, Avsim forum, here, just about any flight sim forum.
Seems like a typical M$ thing some get lucky some don't or it could all be in thier mind.
They think to themselves "PATCH", "FIXES THINGS" something inside there head makes them think that what M$ said it fixed is actually fixed!

Starting to sound as if this is a Placebo Patch ::)

Funny thing is about the only thing about this I read that was positive is that Ozzy will have many more places for his stunts! LOL! ;D

How does it effect textures?  I have the autogen reduced size textures loaded in my installation as well as the low tex size airport environment package.  Does the patch overwrite all the textures?

I like many simmers plan to wait a little while before loading the patch.  I want to know ahead of time how it will effect my installation of FS9.  I have very limited time for flying and the one thing I hate to have to do is fight the software or the computer during the precious few hours I have in a week for flying or modifying planes or scenery.  Above I have posted two new topics.  One for complaints about the patch and one for approvals.  I am asking all concerned to voice their initial impressions on this new patch as it will help me and others playing wiat and see to aquire the data we will need to procede patching the sim with as little disruption to our flight schedules as possible.  Thank you all.

LOL with all these people claiming they will sit back and wait to hear about results, who the heck is going to be the guinea pigs?  Haha.

Autogen vector object got a much lower LOD popup distance... pop up straight before you instead of being visible over a longer distance.

Framerates stayed the same, as the virusscanner likes to go over ALL the files since 2 months

Some bridges were added, but most are in the USA so that doesn't matter much to me.
A lot of stuff (realistic bridges) was added to the NY area, haven't checked that out yet...

That is one of the major improvements you can make to the "smoothness" of your existing simulator.
Reduce the visible, (detailed), distance to a more realistic 5-10 miles in the Options Menu...!
..that's what the real-life scenery looks like from the air...!
...saves processor time, and speeds things up... ;)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul....works fine in FS 2002... ;)...!
