How do you flight?

I wondered how common its to flight In VC among our members,because i can't flight in panel just VC

I prefer cockpit mode it is faster looking side to side but coming in to the airport I'll switch to VC so I can keep a eye on the airport I'm approaching easier if your in a turn than cockpit mode But I also use spotview a lot! Like looking at the plane and scenery from the outside.
So I think you need to add "All" to your poll!

Clickable VCs make flying really realistic, because you have the viewpoint of the captain of the plane, and you don't have to switch to 2D to bring up a window to turn on something or other.

Now if only the entire overhead panel was clickable on the PMDG 736/7....

does not like VC...very complicated VS. real life to view gauges and to program the FMC/MCDU is just a pain alone so no thank you.
LCD/CRT screens are in particual vulnerable to the viewing distance..if you just zoom out a little bit and/or view them from an angle that's not directly infront of them, they become almost

ussually Panel and spotview, the vc kills my framerates. Btw did you know you can eassily switch between panel and spot py pressing the 0 key in the numpad

i only fly from the VC, i don't even download aircraft without a good dvc, and as far as i'm concerned, that 2d panel should have been abolished a long time ago

i fly excactly loke fretnstuff mentioned but i agree with monach as well the 2d panel is not too flash but the vc still needs improving before i would stay flying there

I only use the VC. For all you who think that you need to see all the instruments to fly properly then your wrong. All you need is the artificial horizion, airspeed indicator and a compass. Thats all you need and they are on the top row of the instrument panel in most aircraft. Hence, go to the VC, zoom out a bit intill you can see these and off you go!!!

Both modes suit me. Some VC's seem to hit my frames, other's don't. The MAAM sim B-25 seems to run fine, and so does the PMDG VC, but some freeware ones don't seem to run as nicely. I guess it's down to programming and modelling.

I use both. Depends what plane because lot of them dont have very good VC's.

VC because of the greater sense of immersion.  I also like to fly as "zoomed out" as possible as the greater field of view really adds to the realism, although sometimes (when I need to see gages or landmarks) I pull out the binoculars.

With the exception of the "hardware constrained" folks who can't use VC due to framerates, why would you ever want to fly in 2D panel mode?  Sure it's easier to read gages, but it just doesn't have that "real plane" feel.

I prefer the 2D panel for most flight phases although I like a DVC view for the last 500 ft. on approach because you don't loose sight of the threshold as easily in a flair in the DVC view.  It also depends on the quality of the DVC as well.  My biggest complaint about the DVC is instrument visibility and I disagree with the statement about only needing artificial horizon for flight. If one only flys cubs or cessnas maybe but for those of us that are system junkies and demand prrocedural realism then its necessary to be able to see all the data especially on approache set-up and approach.  Plus, the 2D panels don't suck down my 9200 as easily as the DVC.  Now, if DVC's were coded to soom in or out with a mouse scroll wheel or a ball if u have it then that would be a great improvement to making DVC's fully useful.
