Heya Lewis,

The first thing that I would do in your situation is to rebuild the FS9.cfg before trying to reinstall.  How to do this:

1.)  Using the Windows XP Explorer go to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

2.)  Locate a file called FS9.cfg

3.)  Change the name of this file to FS9(Old).Bak (or whatever you wish)

4.)  Restart FS 2004

What this does is clear your saved settings for FS 2004 and it starts you out just like you have freshly installed the program.  Of course this means that you have to reset your sliders in your Preferences, however, this is easier than completely reinstalling the entire program.
