Heya Monserman,

There are mainly two ways to include real-world traffic into FS 2004.

1.)  Manual Method

This method allows the most flexibility of adding  real-world traffic, however, you need to download and learn to use a few (free) programs.  There are many real-world aircraft in many different up-to-date (and some vintage) liveries available.

Project AI:http://www.projectai.com/

Note: To install these AI aircraft you will need to download the Project AI installer which is available free on the same website.

AI Aardvark:http://www.ai-aardvark.com/

To use the above AI aircraft you will need the excellent Traffic Tools v2.02 program from Lee Swordy which is available here on SimV:

If you need instructions and a tutorial on how to use Traffic Tools to create and manage AI Aircraft flightplans then the Jet Doctor webpage is just for you:

http://www.jetdoc.com/HLP/helptt1.html

As I said earlier you have much more flexibility with the Manual Method in that you can insert flightplans for real-world airlines that you want in FS 2004.  This method is not easy because there is a lot of things to learn.   Please be cautioned not to go overboard on AI aircraft.  If you add too many AI aircraft your frame-rates will suffer.

2.) Payware programs

There are two major payware programs available which are easy to use.  These programs will do everything for you.  You won't have to learn Microsoft's FS 2004 SDK or other specialized utilities.

Personally, I use Ultimate Traffic.  I highly recommend that if you are looking for a AI traffic program then look here first.  Here is a website where you can go to read about the features of this excellent program:

http://www.glide-slope.com/glide-slope/newultrneevi.html

You can read more about Ultimate Traffic's features (and download it) here:

http://www.flight1.com/esd-products.asp?product=utraffic

No, I don't work for the company that sells Ultimate Traffic.  I just find it to be an outstanding product.  In my opinion it is well worth the cost of $30.00 US (you may also wish to get the Spring/Summer flights update for an additional $5.00).

There are a couple of quirks to Ultimate Traffic to be aware of.  If you decide to get this program let me know and I'll be happy to help out.  Just IM me here at SimV.
